The Environmental Management and Assessment program at Niagara College is a full-time, one-year graduate certificate program. It is recognized as the first program of its kind in Canada. The program provides students with access to ecological living labs and hands-on learning opportunities via industry internships/projects that provide practical experience one day a week for 12 weeks. The program employs a project-based learning approach that addresses environmental site assessment, organizational sustainability, and waste management.

Admissions Requirements

An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older with mature student status.

  • English Requirement: Grade 12 compulsory English, C (70%) or U (60%), or equivalent.
     
  • Academic Strength: All applicants who meet the academic strength requirements must attend a program information session.


English Language Proficiency: Applicants possessing degrees/diplomas from institutions where the language of instruction was not English will be required to provide test scores as evidence of their English language proficiency. Test scores, if required, would be a minimum of:

  • IELTS Overall 6.5 with no band less than 5.5
     
  • TOEFL iBT - Overall 85 and (Writing & Speaking - 22)
     
  • PTE - Overall 60+, with no band less than 57
     
  • Duolingo - 120+, with no band less than 100
