The Software Engineering Technology (Optional Co-op) program at Conestoga College is a comprehensive, three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program. This program equips students with a wide range of software engineering skills, preparing them for diverse career opportunities in the dynamic and complex industry of software development. The curriculum emphasizes a broad base of languages and technologies, including web development, databases, business intelligence, and cybersecurity. The optional sixteen-month co-op provides valuable work experience.
 

Career Opportunities: 

Software Developer: They design, code, and test computer software or mobile apps.

Database Administrator: They use specialized software to store and organize data.

Cybersecurity Analyst: They plan and carry out security measures to protect an organization’s computer networks and systems.

Research and Development: They work on innovating, developing, and enhancing products and procedures to improve technological capabilities in the field of software engineering.

Admissions Requirements

• You need to have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or be 19 years of age or older with mature student status.

• You must have Grade 12 compulsory English, C or U, or equivalent, OR have completed Conestoga College Preparatory Communications (COMM1251).

• You must have Grade 12 Mathematics, C or U (MCT4C or MHF4U or MCV4U or MDM4U), or equivalent, OR have completed Conestoga College Preparatory Mathematics for Technology & Apprenticeship (MATH1385).

• The minimum grade required for MCT4C is 60%, for MHF4U and MCV4U is 50%, for MDM4U is 70%, and for MATH1385 is 60%.

• Applicants with MAP4C will not be considered for admission to this program.
