The Business Administration - Marketing (Co-op) program at Conestoga College is a full-time, three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program1. It is designed to equip students with the necessary confidence and employer-valued abilities through the integration of hands-on, real-world experiences. The program presents great career opportunities for those who are creative, intuitive, disciplined, problem solvers with above average analytical and communication skills. Students will design and present marketing plans, develop their own online brands, practice video marketing, and participate in a simulated agency. Graduates will be prepared for leadership roles and careers in digital marketing, advertising, brand development, selling and online marketing.


Career Opportunities: 

  • Digital Marketing Specialist: This role involves developing, implementing, and managing marketing campaigns that promote a company’s brand, products, or services. Their role may include planning campaigns, analyzing metrics, and identifying trends.
     
  • Advertising Manager: They create interest among potential buyers of a product or service for a department, an entire organization, or on a project basis (account). They work in advertising agencies that put together advertising campaigns for clients, in media firms that sell advertising space or time, and in organizations that advertise heavily.
     
  • Brand Development Manager: They are responsible for ensuring the efficiency of business operations as well as setting strategic goals for the future. Their job is to ensure the profitability of our company’s activities to drive sustainable development and long-term success.
     
  • Online Marketing Manager: They are responsible for creating and implementing online marketing strategies to increase sales and revenue for a company. They maximize the technical and creative opportunities afforded by the breadth of social media and online marketing channels.
Admissions Requirements

An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent (assessed to Ontario standards), or 19 years of age or older with mature student status.
 

  • English Requirement: Grade 12 compulsory English, C (min 60%) or U (min 50%), or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Communications (COMM1251) (min 60%), or equivalent.
     
  • Mathematics Requirement: Grade 12 Mathematics, C (min 55%) or U (min 50%), or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Mathematics (MATH1375) min 55%.
     
  • Academic Strength: An academic strength is calculated by averaging the submitted marks of required subjects. Minimum average considered is 70%. If more than one mark is received for a required subject, the highest mark will be used in the calculation.
     
  • Additional Marks: Ten (10) additional marks are added to each Advanced level, OAC, U, U/C, and post-secondary course used in the calculation of academic strength.
     
  • Background Requirement: A sound mathematical and English background is important for success in this program and is considered during the admission selection process. Minimum cutoffs apply.
